Saturday Sampling May 26, 2012
Here is a sampling of some posts from this past week that inspired me, educated me, or made me think.
Do you think I missed anything significant? I try to look for variety. Can you help me with that? Please post any of your recommendations below so we can all benefit!
I don’t have as much to share this week! Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
Jonathan writes a pointed blog about how it is difficult to be a father when you are still living as an insecure, hurt son. Although I know that this post was written with mothers and fathers older than me in mind, I was challenged by it to make sure I do not “eat” my young. I want to encourage and lift up…not condescend and compete.
Jonathan is getting two “shout outs” from me this week. I think the last sentence is my favorite. We actually just had family pictures made.
I love the emphasis here on equipping women to be smart and able to speak for themselves.
Read some inspiring words from my dear friend Pamela Kay Overbey as she comes upon a long worked for milestone…seminary graduation! “Don’t dream your life—live your dreams!”
Seems that “radical” faith is the buzz word in evangelical Christianity. Read why boring old “faithful” is the new radical.
“The consequences could be dramatic: The excessive use of video games and online porn in pursuit of the next thing is creating a generation of risk-averse guys who are unable (and unwilling) to navigate the complexities and risks inherent to real-life relationships, school and employment.” Worth reading.
